Jay is a proud Colorado native with many roots in the northern part of our state where he grew up. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado, majoring in Journalism with emphasis’ in Public Relations and Communications. He is a founding partner of Renaissance Insurance Group and has made significant contributions to the firm’s success.
Throughout his leadership Jay has served on numerous boards within the region. Most notably, he served on the Board of Directors for the Greeley Independence Stampede. As Renaissance has established itself within the insurance industry and local communities, he continues to help guide the agency toward successful perpetuation and independence. Jay has a history of strong relationships within the insurance industry and the Northern Colorado business community.
Outside of the insurance industry, Jay enjoys spending time with his active family. He is passionate about sports and can be found coaching basketball within the community year-round. As a Colorado native, he has also enjoyed hiking several of the 14’ers the state has to offer.
Ryan graduated with a degree in Business Management from the University of Northern Colorado’s Monfort School of Business. Prior to attending UNC, Ryan was raised in Sidney, Nebraska and grew up in his father’s independent agency, working for that firm for a few years after college graduation.
In 2001, Ryan returned to Northern Colorado and was co-founder in Renaissance Insurance Group and has been part of the management team Renaissance since. At Renaissance, he focuses on commercial insurance sales including the agriculture sector.
In his free time, Ryan enjoys golfing, fishing, spending time with his family, attending sporting events and supporting his UNC Bears.
Scott joined Renaissance Insurance Group in 2005 and currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the company. He was born and raised in Greeley, CO and attended college at Colorado State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance.
He focuses his time on creative problem solving, strategic planning, risk management, and building impactful relationships with employees, clients, and carrier partners. As a member of the leadership team, he leverages his experience to help grow and fortify the strong corporate culture that RIG has developed. Scott has been an integral part of the RIG culture for over 16 years, since graduating from CSU.
When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife Maggie and three boys Camden, Bennett, and Brooks. Scott is an avid fly fisherman and enjoys all things outdoors. He has a passion for cooking and loves watching CSU football in the fall.
Scott is a graduate of Colorado Mesa University, a Certified Risk Manager and Certified Insurance Counselor. He has broadened his leadership acumen by completing executive leadership development programs with The Wharton Business School, Center for Creative Leadership and Leadership Denver during his insurance career. He is an insatiable learner and student of impactful leadership and talent development! Scott’s contribution to corporate growth as a leader throughout his insurance career is well documented.
Renaissance Insurance Group provides a solid foundation for Scott to focus his leadership experience in managing corporate strategy, acquisitions, trading partner relationships, risk management, business development and marketing for the firm. Throughout his career he has successfully worked with teams to increase their contribution to the corporation’s velocity by encouraging open collaboration, corporate curiosity, culture integrity, sales performance, brand awareness, service delivery and carrier relations - each time while driving industry leading growth.
During his free time Scott enjoys time with his family, always. His hobbies and interests include sailing, cycling, golf, fishing, hiking, hunting and he is also an avid reader. Scott’s reading materials typically include leadership development, biographies, and history.
Russell grew up in Northeast Wyoming and graduated from Campbell County High School in Gillette. He attended junior college in Cheyenne and finished at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. Russell has now resided in Northeast Colorado for over twenty years and the Adels family are proud residents of a great part of our state.
Agriculture, Construction, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing are industries that Russell has a wealth of experience representing. He is a noted generalist too! When working with clients, Russell remains focused on the relationship by educating on coverage options, helping to manage their cost of risk, and providing an overview of changes in the insurance marketplace.
In Russell’s spare time he likes to go on dates with his wife, Marcie. Spending time roping with his sons and taking care of cattle are his passions as well. The best family trip the Adels enjoyed was to the beaches of Florida.
Donna is a graduate from the University of Northern Colorado, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Education and is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). She is an experienced insurance professional and risk manager with a “best in class” work ethic, frequently going above and beyond for the clients she serves at Renaissance Insurance Group.
Donna’s primary work objectives are to make businesses safer, smarter, and more profitable. Donna has been designing, managing, and evolving insurance solutions for over 25 years, focused primarily on the transportation, manufacturing, and construction industries, just to name a few.
Donna enjoys adding mods and tinkering with her Rubicon, as well as maintaining and designing the landscaping around her home. She is an avid golfer, regularly participating in a weekly league and enjoys traveling, especially the sights and scenes of Las Vegas.
Marci grew up on the Western Slope of Colorado. She fell in love with Northern Colorado while visiting for state 4-H conferences as a teenager. She attended Colorado State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Journalism, and has lived in the area ever since.
Curious by nature, Marci is always ready to get to know her next client and provide creative solutions for each unique insurance situation. She makes insurance easy to understand so individuals can make informed decisions and have confidence they are well taken care of, building long-term relationships and mutual trust. Marci is a Certified Insurance Service Representative for personal insurance.
When not working you can usually find her at the local ice hockey rinks watching her husband and young son play. They are all actively involved with the Northern Colorado Youth Hockey club. She also enjoys paddleboarding, camping, fishing, skiing, and spending time with friends.
A recent addition to the Renaissance team, David hails from north Texas. Though born and raised a Texan, he always felt his soul belonged in the mountains. In what he claims feels like a former life, he made his living as a jazz musician before receiving a degree in Forensic Anthropology from Texas Tech University. After an unexpected career in IT that spanned 20 years, Colorado finally called him home.
After owning a successful IT firm, David understands the value of building meaningful and long-term relationships with his clients. Trust and transparency aren’t just buzzwords to him, they’re a way of life. With an expansive, yet intimate knowledge of IT coupled with a critical thinking approach, he provides a unique insight into the ever-evolving landscape that is cyber liability.
In his free time David and his girlfriend Jessica enjoy getting lost among the solitude of trails and trees. A voracious reader, David enjoys pairing a good book with a robust cigar and a dark beer. He’s even written a book of his own and hopes to publish it soon.
Charia is the newest member of the Renaissance Insurance team, originating from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, which she proudly deems the Midwest's best-kept secret. A graduate of the University of Sioux Falls, Charia excelled in basketball and track and field, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Business Administration.
Her career kicked off at Wells Fargo, where she climbed the ranks before transitioning to the insurance industry. With seven years of coaching high school girls’ basketball and a move to Colorado in 2017, Charia now channels her love for people and coaching into the Employee Benefits space at Renaissance Insurance Group. Armed with over a decade of experience, she serves as an Employee Benefits Risk Advisor, driven by her passion for guiding clients through the complexities of their unique needs.
Outside of work, Charia relishes time with her family and friends, especially her nephews and niece. She enjoys music and sporting events, spontaneous road trips, and wake surfing during the summer. A beach girl at heart, you can often find her planning her next vacation.
Jenny was born and raised in Valley, Nebraska. She attended Northwest Missouri State University and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. In 2005, Jenny moved to Northern Colorado. Her husband, Andy is a Colorado native and graduated from Midland Lutheran College where he played baseball. She regularly volunteers for Weld County Food Bank.
Renaissance Insurance Group provides Jenny the opportunity to work with clients across Colorado, as a Risk Advisor. Her primary objectives are educating clients on risk exposures and tailoring a comprehensive personal insurance solution to their specific needs. Jenny is committed to building long term relationships with each of her clients, one at a time.
While not working, Jenny enjoys spending time with her family, including her daughter, Haley. She also spends much of her free time golfing and participates in local leagues with her friends. Jenny is an avid traveling and, like many northern Coloradoans, enjoys watching the Huskers play in the fall.
